This is the index of childcare cost for 49 US states and DC. The headline figure is each state's median center-based infant-care price — the most expensive and most-searched age group. The table ranks every reporting state from most to least expensive and adds preschool cost and childcare as a share of median household income. The US median is about $7,987/year (2018). Tap any state for its full page with every age group, family-care prices and similar-cost peers.
